At GLOBECOM 2019, ComSoc Young Professionals (YP) are organizing a tour on Monday, 9 December, to the Hawaii Ocean Science & Technology Park (HOST) and networking session on Tuesday night, 10 December.
The tour to HOST will start 9:00 from Hilton Hotel Lobby, running until 13:00 - bus transportation is provided. The networking night will be held on Tuesday from 18:00 – 19:30.
The networking program will feature talks from ComSoc YP volunteers, focusing on volunteering opportunities in ComSoc. Awards for the "Best YP in Academia" and "Best YP in Industry" will be announced and presented to the winners at the same program. Both events (the HOST visit as well as the networking program) are free for everyone.

HOST Park is a unique outdoor demonstration site for emerging renewable energy, aquaculture and other ocean-based sustainable technologies. HOST Park has become the world’s premier ocean science innovation hub and operates at the nexus of water, energy, and food. Three sets of pipelines deliver cold deep sea water from up to 3,000 ft. depth as well as warm pristine surface sea water. Current equipment and pipeline infrastructure is capable of pumping up to 100,000 gallons per minute of seawater throughout the 900 acre technology park. More information: https://nelha.hawaii.gov
