Alongside a strong academic program of peer-reviewed presentations, IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 includes an attractive Industry Program including Industry Posters, which are focused presentations and short demonstrations on communication products of high interest to industry and commerce. GLOBECOM welcomes Industry Posters from diverse sources including industry, academia, government, and in particular from startups and small corporations.
Industry Posters will consist of 3 hour sessions each presenting up to 6 posters. Each poster session is divided into two 1.5 hour sessions. During the first 1.5 hours, each presenter will be given about 10-15 minutes to briefly present the topic, the product, and the company as well as give a short demonstration of the product. During the second 1.5 hours, the audience will get a one-on-one or small group opportunity to discuss the product in-depth with the presenter as well as an opportunity for the presenter to give a more detailed demonstration. A set of Industry Posters is an excellent way to rapidly and compellingly share the latest information about diverse products from several presenters, and for the audience to then get a more in-depth understanding of a few interested products in an efficient way.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Personal area communications
- Unified messaging
- Communications in medicine
- Fog and other network edge technologies
- Vehicle communications and control
- Development of the Internet of Things
- Green communications
- Social networking
- Smart cities
Industry Poster sessions will be scheduled on Tuesday (December 10), Wednesday (December 11) and Thursday (December 12) of the conference and will be held on the Exhibits floor.
Guidelines
Interested poster presenters must submit proposals for their posters to the Industry Posters Chair, Vijay K. Varma (v.varma@ieee.org).
The proposal should include the following information:
- Speaker information: name, affiliation, email address, telephone number and a brief biography (not to exceed 200 words)
- Poster Title
- Unique features of the product (not exceeding 200 words)
Submission deadline: June 1, 2019 June 28, 2019, with a request for the preferred presentation date
The selected Posters will be announced by July 1.
Logistics
Posters will be displayed on a monitor (slide show mode) during the morning on the day of presentation and there is no need to bring in paper posters. If your poster presentation includes a demo, you will be allotted a skirted table and a 110 Volt electrical power strip. Internet access will be offered via Wi-Fi. Any other equipment/material must be brought by the presenters. Authors will be responsible for shipping costs and for transportation/delivery to and from the conference, and will be responsible for care and safety of their equipment during the conference.
Registration
The following apply to Industry Poster Speakers:
- If attendance is only for the day of the poster, they get a free One Day Registration.
- If attendance is for more than the day of the poster session, they will have to pay for a regular registration.
