Call for Technical Panels

IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 will be hosting a series of technical panels and invites submissions of such proposals. Technical panels should target debatable issues in communications and networking technologies including 5G, massive MIMO, mmWave, SDN/NFV, MEC, IoT, security, connected cars, autonomous driving, tactile Internet, optical communication, visible light communication, etc. The organization of each panel should be 10-min pitch by the moderator and each of the 3 panelists, followed by 50-min Q&A, rendering a panel of 90 minutes. Technical panels will take place on the main conference dates from 10 (Tuesday) to 12 (Thursday), December 2019.
 

Technical Panel Proposal Format

Each proposal (maximum 3 pages) must include:

  1. Title of the panel (preferably a debatable issue in the form of XYZ vs. ABC or XYZ?)
  2. Name, affiliation, and a short biography (up to 200 words each) of the proposed panel moderator and 3 panelists
  3. A brief description (1 page max) of the technical issue that the panel will debate upon, emphasizing its controversy.

 

Proposal Submission

Proposals should be submitted via E-mail to the Technical Panels Chairs, Russell Hsing (thsing190@gmail.com) and Ying-Dar Lin (ydlin@cs.nctu.edu.tw), with subject of “GC2019 Technical Panel Proposal (title of your panel)” by the proposal deadline, June 14, 2019.
